Vermentino wine tour in Versilia

From 200€

Unconventional wine tour in Northern Tuscany Versilia coast, the land of Vermentino. Here, Simone will wisely introduce you to its vineyards and to the wine making art. His pay-off is: more vineyards, more wine, more emotions and this is a valuable experience for all the family.

The kid’s vineyard project

Despite many wineries, where kids are welcome, but not taking active part in the tours, Simone’s cellars experience is especially addressed to families, inviting children to get involved in the history of wine and finally adopting their small piece of vine. This is the socalled ‘Kids vineyard’s project educating children to appreciate the tradition and skills required for making one of the oldest native products of our country. At the end of the tour, which includes also a walk in the vineyards, where hanging up the kids name label on the vine’s row, Simone will hand out a vine certificate of adoption. The kid will be free to write any time to ask about the conditions of grapes and harvest.
While mon and dad relax tasting some wine and savouring the local cheese and cold cuts under the veranda, kids will have a large playground to frolic aroud and many treats to snack.

Land of Vermentino

Vermentino is a light-skinned wine grape variety, primarily found in Sardinia, in Liguria and in increasing amounts along the coast in Tuscany and also in Versilia region. The grapes are amber-yellow and hang in pyramidal bunches, often grown on slopes facing the sea, where they can benefit from the additional light. The Vermentino wine is a sapid wine which gets its particular taste from minerals and salt present in the ground and blown by the sea winds.
