Garfagnana is crossed by two rivers and along their valleys slopes are dotted of small cosy villages. The biggest towns are Borgo a Mozzano, Castelnuovo Garfagnana and Barga, but there are many other scattered around the area, which are famous for their artisanal productions from Coreglia Antelminelli, to San Romano, Sillicano ecc.
The most famous icon of Garfagnana is the Devil’s bridge, Ponte della Maddalena, and its three pointed arches. The legend says that the inhabitants asked the Devil to allow them finish the costruction, in change of a pure soul. A dog crossed the bridge as first, cheating the Devil.
