The villa
This art nouveau villa is located by the Massaciuccoli Lake in a splendid position, which allows very easy connections to Lucca, Pisa and the seaside.
Surrounded by exotic gardens, it laps the shores of the lake and boats coming from the Belvedere in Torre del Lago Puccini find suitable mooring. During Summer time guests can enjoy a short cruise on the lake to get to the famous Puccini Theatre to attend operas. The charming boat house is a very nice example of early XXth century Gothic architecture, where rawboats are yet available for romantic boat rides.
Insider’ secret
The Villa and the entire property of Massaciuccoli lake was purchased by a Florentine noble family as their private game reserve. Maestro Puccini was “pinched” while hunting without permission . Then the Marquis and Giacomo Puccini became close friends and Puccini composed part of the Boheme while at the villa and dedicated it to the present owners great-grandmother. The piano and a picture of Puccini during one of his visits is still conserved in the villa main hall.
B&B and clubhouse
This Art Nouveau villa provides also 4 double rooms in its B&B + 1 apartment, as a perfect accommodation for guests or bride’s and groom relatives.The location is perfect for those who seek for relax and tranquillity.
Weddings in villa
The villa gained authorization for civil weddings by the local townhall of Massarosa. The couple will be able to hold both ceremony and reception in the villa. From 2014 the villa will not only offer its gardens as setting for the wedding celebration and party, but also the piano nobile in the main villa building. Here you will seat where Puccini stood to compose his music, surrounded by Macchiaioli painters tapestry.
You may also opt for symbolic ceremonies directly by the lake shore.
In case of rain the clubhouse has an indoor space which can accommodate max 100 pax. A marquee needs to be rented if your group is bigger than the capacity of the villa.
