Getting married in Italy requires some paperwork according to the couple’s nationality, especially if residing within EU or in UK, USA, Australia etc. Each country has established different procedures and documents to celebrate civil weddings, which can be mutually recognised in the country of origin. The Catholic wedding has legal validity though celebrated in the church. We will guide you and provide a full assistance through the whole process to make it easy and smooth.

Once you have collected the official documents in your country you will need, depending on the nationality, to collect other stamps and translations in Italy. This means that you will need to arrange for arriving in Italy not less than 2 days before the date of your wedding.

Gay weddings

Since 2016, Italian Townhalls are recognizing Gay Weddings by law. The procedure is the same as for etero couples in terms of documentation and paperworks.

What we can do for you

We will provide a detailed and full description of documents to be collected and related procedure to follow, including which institution to be involved with either in case of Civil or Catholic Religious weddings. According to the location area, we will recommend the most appropiate and charming location for your ceremony. Last but not least, we will directly liase with both Registrars and Priests in order to avoid misunderstandings and to make the process as smooth as possible. We will provide legally translated documents, apostilles, atto notorio and other documents, which require to be collected in Italy. Finally we will assist you as Interpreters during the sworn declaration in front of the registrar and during the ceremony itself. In fact, the civil wedding requires the presence of an Interpreter by law. In case of symbolic ceremonies we will recommend the right Celebrant or guide you to arrange this moment among friends and relatives.
