A walk on historical villas’ pathways in Lucca

Last Sunday I attended the 39th edition of the Walk on villas event in Lucca. Not only it was a great opportunity to hike on the very charming hillside of Marlia and Matraia, but also to discover beautiful private villas scattered around a 16 km loop. I admit I was exhausted at the end, but I did not feel any weariness during the walk. Plenty of charming boroughs, tiny typical restaurants, small churches and striking views completed this exciting experience. I recommend taking any walk around Marlia, in the Capannori area, to enjoy the Tuscan countryside of olive trees and vineyards and visit some truly hidden-gems gardens and villas around any corner or turn.
