Garfagnana in a sunny day of October

I never get bored of Garfagnana and of its small local historical villages perched on the hills and overlooking its green valley. I never get enough of the foody treats that are produced in the region: from cheese to honey, Bazzone ham and biroldo, chestnusts and porcini mushrooms…
Today the light was magical and despite the weather forecast the day was warm and allowed us to take nice walks around Barga, Castelnuovo Garfagnana and up in the Mont’Alfonso Fortress.
We enjoyed a special cheese tasting at Marovelli’s shop in Castelnuovo Garfagnana. Romina shared with us some family stories, while offering us some delicious tastes of pecorino, tomino and ricotta paired with different honeys…To die for! See you soon Garfagnana!
