The pottery shop in Lucca

Lucca has many artisan shops, whose activities often date back to the last century, from jewellery, printing, weaving, music instruments and pottery. In my last artisans’ tour I visited one which is very particular because it has both exposition and workshop. You might be lucky to see the artist in action while modelling clay. The shop is just behind the church of San Frediano at the bottom of a gentle slope running onto the city walls (Salita di San Frediano). All ceramics are produced in-house and there are plenty of nice typically-Tuscan-style objects.
If you love the kind, there are a few shops in Piazza Anfiteatro that you cannot miss, such as Mammarò and Le Sorelle.
