5 Wedding portals i love
When brides start planning their wedding, look up for information and inspiration on wedding portals that not only include information on what to do and how, but they also provide list of vendors, devided into geographical areas. The search will therefore end up connecting the couple with locations, photographers, florists and wedding planners…
I have searched thoroughly around wedding portals and I have learned that there can be many different variations: those based on magazines, those promoted by wedding photographers, those selling wedding event eccessories, decorations, customised items and finally those prividing tools and vendors listings to help couples plan their event.
Wishversilia has gathered quite an experience on weddings and elopements in Tuscany, assisting both Italian and foreign couples. If the first ones are very demanding on the guests side, as long as they are involving on average 100 people, the second maybe a bit reluctant at the beginning to understand our working attitude, our rates and our menus!
In fact, the Italian weddings put a great attention on food and menus have to be rich and eye-catching. Foreign couples, are looking for simple, genuine courses and possibly for quick service and quite several drinks to be cheered up during speeches.
The only part which seems the same is the bride preparation: make-up, hairdo, wedding dress, jewels, something blue, old and borrowed, except quite a few bridemaids to be cared after for foreign brides.
A wedding planner is usually able to put the bride in contact with the best vendors, according to their wills and budget, that is why we are crucial in the organization of the event. So, when the bride starts looking around for information, will bumb into several portals, which eventually will drive them to connect with the best local vendors and coordinators. Let’s have a look at those that I prefer:
Zankyou Weddings is a wedding magazine most visited in Italy with more than 3,500,000 unique pageviews per year. It is also a leader or co-leader in more than 20 countries being the most visited worldwide wedding portal. It is very popular in Russia.
Style me pretty is an American wedding style megazine, by Abby Larson, which covers everything from real weddings to vendors. Style Me Pretty sees over 18 million Monthly Page Views and approximately 2,300,000 Monthly Visitors. Huge!
Carats and Cakes is my favourite in terms of wedding photography. Only the best photo sesssios can feature on this blog. This is a great help to understand which style is fitting yours and you can find all links and resources to contact vendors that contributed to the spotted event.
Matrimonio.com is very popular in Italy and it may become a great resource to look for vendors even in regions and towns that are not so popular. Here any vendor can enlist and there is no limit per area, therefore it is considered as a wedding reference book.
Last but not least Martha’s Cottage one of the biggest portal in Europe for wedding accessories with more tha 100,000 unique visitors each month. I do not like to ‘abuse’ decorations, customised items etc, but I admit that some are very cute expecially for the photo boot and the ceremony.
I recommend to have a look at all of them, to help you find your own style and attitude for your event. Wishversilia will help you make your preferred style reality!
