The Social media land in Versilia to reward the best shots of the Carnival of Viareggio.
After the experience of the Versilia Summer Challenge which has reached more than 60,000 Instagram users with more than 1000 photos uploaded about the Versilia region, its sea and its beauties , the incoming agency Wishversilia, Versiliatoday and 2Muv, in collaboration with Fondazione Carnevale di Viareggio and a no profit association I Carnevalari , launch ‘ Snap the Carnival 2014 ‘ , the online photo challenge of the Carnival 2014.
From the morning of Thursday, February 27 , or Fat Thursday , until Tuesday March 11th at midnight , tourists, non- Viareggio residents and in general anyone who wants to share a snap on the theme of Carnival in Italy and the world can join the photo contest and win using the Instagram app for smartphones and tablets. .
The event will include the production and publication of photos in real time , which will be shared on social media Twitter , Google+ and Facebook and published in real time on the dedicated website.
Guests of the event, out of competition , bloggers, Instagramers and social media experts from all over Italy who will enjoy the Carnival taste as insiders and share their fun with followers. The Instagramers Italia association is partnering the event.
In addition to the first prize defined by the main tag # carnevaleviareggio14 , there are 6 other sections defining the competition , combined with various prizes from sponsors :
#carrocarnevale : snap the paper mache floats in Viareggio and in the world
#maschera : snap carnival masks individual or in group in Viareggio and in the world
#selfie : self-portraits related to the carnival
#paesaggi: snaps landscapes or particular points of view with a reference to the carnival element .
#food: snap typical foods , recipes , places , tasting during the carnival period .
# dayafter ( when it all ends ) snaps people, places, objects at the end of the events of the carnival
It will be a unique opportunity to build a huge story of the Carnival , places , masks, food , traditions and creativity not only in Italy but also abroad.

How to participate

• REGISTRATION Free , registration is not required in the event, everyone can participate , wherever they are, as long as they comply with the rules of the challenge .
• DURATION : From 11 am on Thursday, February 27th up to Sunday, March 9th at 9pm
• HOW TO PLAY : snap a photo via Instagram and share them through your personal account on one of the following social media Twitter, Google+ or Facebook. Will be considered in competition only unpublished photos taken and published during the period indicated above. Anyone who publishes a photo should possess intellectual property.
• HOW TO WIN : Prizes will be awarded at the discretion of a special jury composed of a representative of the promoters and partners, Versiliatoday , Wishversilia , 2Muv , Ass.ne Carnevalari , Carnival Foundation , Instagramer Italy Association plus 3 professional photographers.
